Parallel Intersections Chapter 00: Prologue

Chapter 00: Prologue
…Seiren… That name… is not fitted for you who are full of lies…
W-Who are you?
Can you not see…? I am…

A sleepy head, with a dumbfounded strand of hair sticking on the top of her head from nowhere, slammed loudly on the switch of her alarm clock, awakening from her dream. She lazily got up, still dragging her blanket with her, as she wiped her heterochromia-colored eyes trying to take a better look at the time.

“I see you're awake...”A voice of a young man had been spoken, but yet no one was around except Seiren, herself.

"Shin…Did you change the time on my alarm clock again...?" She asked, annoyingly, stretching her arms up high as she looked toward the direction where a small and cute, yet, strange looking stuffed animal sat, starring at the girl.

Its mouth began to have motion as words started resounded from the object. “And why would you say that, miss...?” The voice from the stuffed animal replied as it began to walk casually on its own two cottoned-feet.

"It's 2 hours earlier than when I set it last night..."
“It's for your health, miss.”

"...Really now...?"

“Of course,” the voice replied, rather sarcastically.

The idiot with cerulean blue hair sighed, "I don't see how it would be good for my health if I wake up at 5:00am when I slept at 1:00am," Seiren complained, organizing the books she had thrown everywhere in the room just last night. She tied her hair up in a loose ponytail that resided on her left shoulder, while completing her business with the morning routine. She then looked through her, (surprisingly) neat closet to find her academy uniform, which had not been worn for quite a few days... or weeks even.

“The earlier the rise, the better. And besides, you’re not going away with skipping school this time, Sei.”

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Now get lost, I'm going to change," Seiren said, as the plush animal obeyed her command, walking outside through a small little door designed just for him.
She started stripping off her boyish pajamas, changing into her academy uniform that holds the colors of red and white, with a hint of black, along with a vest and a loose tie to complete its perfection. She reached for her school bag (with a few specs of dust that had covered most of the parts), and began placing in some of the books she had not even lay her hands on since the last day she attended class, then left the carrier on the stair steps.

She walked outside and looked at the sky, which had been brightened by the slowly risen sun of dawn break. Breathing in some fresh air, her mind became at ease once again, and she sat herself down a comfortable white sofa just in front of her...amazingly...'self-made' home.
The exterior of the house, in which seems like a small castle, was pure white painted with a dark red roof. Its two stories added the richness sense to the building that was in the middle of a forest, surrounded by crystal quartz. The interior was cleanly designed with red and white patterns among the furniture and tiles, along with some elegancy of gold, which added the royalty atmosphere the house. In the center, just above a few steps above low ground, were a white grand piano and a standing microphone, surrounded by bright yellow lights. If one sees this, they would not have thought this was merely done by a high school girl through alchemy.

Shiratori Seiren is an alchemist Jeon with powers of which she didn't even know herself. She was said to be found (and adopted since), being covered with blood near the Quartz Forest. She is trying to find the origins of her own being and the histories of Symphonia, which had been thrown away by its own people, through many researchs, but yet... it seemed that there is very little hope so far.

“Sei...” The stuffed animal came back, hopping on a nearby high object so it would be easier for him to talk to the tall girl.

"What is it, Shin?" Seiren replied, looking back at the talking creature.

“Something is bugging you, isn’t it?”

"Looks like I can't hide anything from you," Seiren sighed, not avoiding the fact that there was something in her mind.

"I am your guardian."

Seiren snickered, and reached her hand to touch lightly on her silver dog-tag necklace, which engraved the ancient letters: Hitori. Sei then looked up at the birds flying above the forest with a quite gloomy look on her face as Shinri glanced over with worried eyes.

"It's just... I haven't found anything about myself. I'm starting to wonder, just who the heck am I? No... to be exact... What am I?”

There was a short pause. The leaf rustled and the wind flew hard against the branches, which shaken the old trees of the forest. The brightness of the sun began to lighten up the sky but yet the atmosphere of Quartz Forest was still cold as ever.

“It’s not just me that I’m worrying about,” Seiren continued, “You, Shin, I haven’t figured out a way to transfer your soul back to your own body. Besides, we don’t even know where your body lies! If this continues to go any longer than it already had then-”

“Sei, you’re worrying way too much. Right now, you should be focusing about your past, not me.”
“But-!”

“No buts. I am here to help you and also to thank you for all you had done for me, a lost soul, and that’s all. I’ll find my own way to return to my body. I am grateful that you are trying to help, but the top prioty right now is you, Seiren. Like you said yourself, you don’t even know who you are. My goal is to simply recover your memories and I am to oblige to nothing else.”

Seiren was out of words to say and stayed silent for the time being.
Seiren was found and adopted by a kind family when she was left covered in blood in the same forest she was standing on. Her memories are that of a blur, and she just can’t seem to remember anything: her real name, where she comes from, and even who she is. The only key leading to her past is her necklace, in which bears ancient writings of only high researchers could read.
Shinri, he who has a soul but no body, had always been there to protect and guard Seiren to help her since the day she had "found" him. Shinri had declared he is protecting Seiren under an ‘important’ someone’s request that he could not reveal. At the very least, Seiren wanted to repaid him for all he had done.

Shinri stayed silent with the long pause, until he’d decided to speak once again. “Just relax and worry about your own self more, Sei. Right now, you should be worrying about the fact of school...miss.”

'School' was the keyword that made Seiren turned her head panicky to check for the time on the watch of her hand. 6:00a.m., it said.

"Oh craddy, why didn't you tell me earlier!?"

“You looked way too pre-occupied for me to even say a word.”

The idiot quickly ran in her house, tripping over various things on the ground as she went, and grabbed her backpack placed just on the steps. She rushed to put on the Jeno Ring on her middle finger and, as quick as possible, shoved her J-DiscS in her small pouch hanged on her right leg, designed just for the magical items.

Sei quickly cheated to school using her own designed air skateboard through alchemy and dashed off into the sky, and through the barrier, which surrounded the Quartz Forest in which she created to wear off intruders. And with that, Shiratori Seiren rushed to school after a short time of absence, oblivious to what may come her ways.

“I wonder… Could there ever be warmth in this chilly place…?”
__________
Translations:
"strand of hair": in other words, an ahoge, in which used to descibe idiots
Shiratori Seiren: 'Shiratori' means swan, which symbolizes loyalty and majesty, while 'Seiren' means integrity.
Shinri: means truth, a counteract of "Seiren"
Hitori: means alone
"I wonder... Could there ever be warmth in this chilly place...?": Shinri is using a metaphor to relate hope as warmth and Seiren as Quartz Forest.
Author's Note:
First of all, I am sorry for my terrible grammatical mistakes that you could almost spot anywhere in this very small chapter. (/>0<)/ <--- An idiot who would never be good at grammar.
This is Chapter 00, where Seiren and Shinri are first introduced.
When I first design Seiren, I thought of myself. Seiren is purely based on me, the creator, in mostly personalities wise. She is also whom I want to become, for I am not as strong as she is (^__^;)
Shinri is a really nice guy and his real form is yet to be reveal yet. It's not as if I didn't finish designing him yet -cough cough- But I hope you look forward to the story and the many characters.
Thank you for reading this!
